                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY
                   LOCATED NORTHEAST OF WEST 25TH STREET, BETWEEN
                   COWART STREET AND WILLIAMS STREET, MORE
                   PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned an alley located northeast of West 25th Street,
         between Cowart Street and Williams Street, more particularly
         described herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made 
a
         part hereof by reference:
        
                Part of a 10 foot wide alleyway beginning 38.75
                feet northeast of the northeast line of West 25th
                Street (as now widened), said point of beginning
                being the northeast line of lots 5 and 8, block 6,
                G.T. White's Subdivision, as shown by plat of
                record in deed book D, volume 2, page 246, ROHC,
                and extending northeast 243.75 feet between
                parallel lines, and parallel to, and 135 feet
                southeast of, Cowart Street, to the northeast line
                of lots 1 and 12, block 6, said G. T. White's
                subdivision.  Said alleyway separates lots 1-6,
                block 6, from lots 7-12, block 6, said White's
                subdivision.  Tax Map No. 145N-E-3-9.

              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this
         Ordinance shall take effect two weeks from and after its 
passage
         as provided by law.
